Abrader Taber is an instrument for evaluating the resistance of a material to wear and abrasion.
A specimen is mounted to a turntable platform that rotates on a vertical axis. As the turntable rotates, contact of the specimen against the sliding rotation of two abrading wheels cause wear.
The resulting abrasion marks form a pattern of crossed arcs in a circular band that cover an area approximately 30 cm2 .
Field of application: painted, textile, metals, stone, ceramics, plastics, leather, rubber, linoleum, laminates, glass, paper, and many others.
Consumables: pair of grinding wheels CS10, CS17, H10, H18, H22; mounting cards S-36, S-37 e abrasive S11.
